Busy Bees!!

MY NEIGHBORHOOD GETTIN COVERED WITH SNOW!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

The beautiful cake my friend made!

BIRTHDAY GIRL!!

Well it is December now! Favorite time of year!! I cant express how much I love this season! November was definitely super busy between Alex's birthday parties and hosting Thanksgiving and celebrating a friend's birthday and working and everyday tasks. I am so worn out. In a good way though. :)
Thanksgiving was a blast! First off, we woke up to a really nice and pretty surprise....SNOW!! Big flakes too!! The kids were super excited. Lots of great food and great company! Our house isn't huge but we managed to have 10 adults and 5 kids in the house. It was trying at one point ,while cooking because these German kitchens are just to small...lol We had a great time! I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving as well!!
Now it's December and its still cold and snowing. It is so pretty here. All the trees covered in beautiful white snow! We are getting ready for Christmas. The kids have a performance next week. I am excited about that. They have been practicing so hard. Pictures for sure! Every weekend we have something planned.....get togethers with friends. On Christmas eve going to make Christmas cookies and reindeer food! We got a gingerbread village kit..so the kids and I will be doing that this weekend. ]
We are all doing well, just trying to stay warm and enjoy this very special season. Jackie lost tooth #5 today. Poor girl is going to be toothless soon. :) So I have to play tooth fairy once again!
Well that's it for now, I am sure I will be updating soon. Hope everyone is doing well! Love and miss you all!!

What an Experience......

Hey all,
I wanted to write about what Alex did yesterday as apart of the student council.
I am so very proud of her. Her student council put together a charity for the families of wounded soldiers, who have to be here due to the situations. They asked the school to go get some random items, such as paper towels, laundry soap, dishwasher detergent, washcloths, pillows, and other items. Well they brought the items yesterday to the Fisher House. Alex said they got to meet the founder and some wounded soldiers as well. She said it was fun. She met a soldier whose legs where amputated. She said that was sad. I am just so happy that she was apart of such a great charity. She said she saw her teacher say thank you to the soldiers. She came home and asked me why she thanked them. I explained that they are fighting for us and they are brave men and women. She knew that some have died, I had to explain that a little bit too. She is growing up way to fast.
Their next project that they are working on is Christmas cards to the deployed. She has done four so far. The next big thing is something for the Wounded Soldiers. That is in February. I just wanted to share what my baby is doing these days. It really does amaze me. Please keep these families in your prayers, as well as the soldiers. What and experience........

The Set Up!
Well HELLO everyone.......
I know I know, it's been forever since I updated. Life here has been super crazy. It's been 2 months...a little over, so here goes.
Well I got a job! I work at the school cafeteria. Not my dream job but it's a job and it has the best schedule I could ask for! I work from 8-2 everyday,so I am home when the kids are home and off when they are off, including summers, holidays,Christmas break, etc.... I don't have to pay childcare so that's a BIG plus! I am looking to get into the school system here, same schedule pretty much! Thats something I would to do. So yes, just with that, life is crazy. Then there was soccer, 4 days a week I was doing soccer. The girls had fun so that's what counts, not me being exhausted and stressed for two months...lol Alex, did awesome, she really is good and she said she wants to do it again next year. Jackie liked it, but she is 6 and wasn't the most interested in it. She says next year she wants to do it again but I personally think dance or something like it would be good for her. Mikey isn't old enough yet to participate, he has to be 5 but he sure did have fun running around the fields. lol
Alex, also is apart of the 3rd-5th student council. She was voted to be her class rep. She is loving it!! They are doing a charity for The Fisher House. It's where they ask people to donate items to the families that have to be here because of their wounded/ill family members. They go on Wed to drop it off. I am so thrilled she gets to be apart f something like that. She also has started to go to enrichment classes. Its basically for gifted/bright students. She goes once a week. They are learning about rocks and minerals and doing research on them. She is doing GREAT in school. Her reading is at a 5th grade level and her teacher says her strong suit is writing. So proud of her.
Jackie is doing great in school as well. She is reading very well and her teacher says she is very good and organized at school. If only these kids can carry these traits home. LOL Jackie has lost 4 teeth, so she has a huge whole in her mouth. LOL Jackie has also really been getting drawing....she is really good at it...just like her big sister.
Mikey is Mikey. He has become such a little boy. I mean rough housing, jumping off of things, trying to beat his sisters up. I am not use to this. It amazes me to see the big boy part come out. He will always be my baby though. Then there is the sweet gentle side of him, where he wants to "cuddle" with me. I love that side. He is doing good in school, he really does enjoy it. I cant wait until he starts really learning German. He is so funny with trying to tell me what word he learned that day.
Now, we are getting ready for the holidays. Trying to finish up the last of the Christmas shopping for the kiddies. Almost done. I cant wait so that way I can enjoy the season and not be stressed over presents. We have plans to attend the Christmas markets here. I am so very excited abut that. I cant wait! Also cant wait to get my tree up!! I love this season.
We are all doing well, just busy busy. Alex had a sleepover the other night with her friends for her birthday. That was interesting, 4 little 9yr old girls. Let's just say I was POOPED! Next Saturday we are having friends over to celebrate her birthday! So two parties for her!! Well, that is it for now, I promise I will try to update a little more. It was just by the time night time rolled around I was to tired to write. LOL I really miss and love everyone!! Until next time!

HELLO!!

Hello everyone!! Hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend!! For us, Mike had to work, so we just relaxed at home and enjoyed the three day weekend. Mikey was sick so he had a four day weekend. The weather is beautiful here, Fall is definitely on its way!!
The first week of school went well. The kids like their teachers and are excited to see their friends again! I am ready to tackle week #2. Mikey is really liking German school, I might get to leave him this week, at least for an hour or so. What am I going to do with myself. Hee hee! I might cry this week.
This week I really don't have to much planned, except soccer practice. On Saturday, The girls have their opening day for their games. They have to be on base at the fields at 0830! BLAH.....we will be there the whole day. They have a little ceremony at 9 and then the girls will play, at different times. They are excited! I on the other hand, is not looking forward to staying there ALL day! I know I will be one tired soccer mom after that day is over! Well, I hope everyone is doing well! Love and miss everyone! Have a great week!!

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL...2010-2011

PLAYING WITH HIS TEACHER

MY LIL MAN...

MY 3RD GRADER

MY 1ST GRADER

MY SCHOOL GIRLS!!

Well the first day of school came and gone. The girls were soooooo nervous. Alex couldn't even eat breakfast. LOL When we got there, Alex would not let me take pictures of her. I told her if she didn't let me take one picture I would embarrass her. LOL So she took one, but it was a " get this over with" picture. hee hee. Jackie, on the other hand, let me take pictures. She was really quiet and she looked scared. She wouldn't stop giving me hugs. lol At the end of the day, they both said they had a great day and really liked their teachers. I knew they would.
Mikey, had his first day of German Kindergarten today. He loved it. It was only for an hour today, and I was in the room being a passive parent. He was very shy at first, but my friends little girl is in the same class, and she showed him the ropes. We are going back today for an hour again, he is thrilled. Next week, I think I might get to leave him for like 2 hours. So that will be two hours to myself...YEAH!!!
I went to the high school and middle school to get a packet for subbing, the middle school is not looking but the high school is. I walked into the high school, and I was so intimidated, lol. Most of these kids were much bigger than me. hee hee. I hope I will get it, after I do the massive paper work for it.
All in all, yesterday was a great day. The kids had a blast, although I was one tired mamma at the end of the night!! Love you all!! xoxoxoxoxo

DATE NIGHT WITH MIKE!!

Jackie's First tooth MISSING!!!

WOW! Has it been that long since I have written a new blog? I guess the time has slipped away from me. We have been really busy lately, that I have not been able to sit down and write. Sorry for the delay. I guess I just have been to tired to write...LOL Comes with being a mom.
Lets see, a lot has happened since I last wrote. Jackie lost her first tooth(second is about to come out any day now), learned to ride a two wheeler, and is reading so well. Alex, started soccer, as well as Jackie, and is loving it. Mikey, is getting bigger by the day, he can ride a big bike, with training wheels of course, looks like Santa might be bringing him a cool big boy bike, he is also preparing for German school. He starts Monday, as well as the girls. I think we are all ready for school. Mikey is super excited, he tells EVERYONE, that he is starting German school. Yesterday, I took the kids to get haircuts, Alex has a new look this year. I will post pics later. They are excited to wear their "back to school" clothes and accessories. Mikey is excited to wear his backpack. LOL This is gonna be a fun year, I can feel it.
We also went to an amusement park called Europa Park. IT is about an 2 hr drive from here, so we got to see a little bit more of Germany, So pretty. We accidentally drove through France to get there. It was funny because we didn't know and we didn't have passports or our international drivers license. Of course Mike was calm and I was really anxious. I was scared they would detain us....lol All was well, Alex thought it was cool to be in France. Europa Park was a lot of fun, a big knock off of Disney, I think, but fun. The kids had a blast and were really daring. That was like our end of summer adventure, next summer will be more adventurous, God willing.
We are all good, I was looking for a job, had a couple of offers, but nothing seemed to be feasible for our family, with daycare and the kids school. So hopefully I will be finding something soon. Maybe its just not my time to work right now. I am going to apply to be a sub at the kids school or Jr high, don't know which one yet.
Mike is good, working a lot. He loves his dog and he is getting settling in real nicely. He is starting up his Fantasy football league. He is the commissioner, I guess and is going to LOVE it.
, tomorrow is the first day of school for all the kids, I will most definitely report back tomorrow. They are really excited!!! So am I......LOL Well, I hope everyone had a great summer and is preparing for Fall, my favorite time of year! Love and miss you all!! Above are some pictures of some of the events that took place since the last post!

Well, it has been a couple of weeks since I last blogged!! Its been a couple of busy weeks. By the end of the night I am too exhausted to write. lol Let's see, the past couple of weeks I have watched my friends boys.....they are really good boys....but you can see why I am exhausted at night...lol Five children in my care. Hee hee. Mike on flight now....so he works mids, 4pm to 5am the next morning. He works 2 days on, off for 2 days, works 2 days, off for 3days, which is every other weekend! He is liking it...so far! The kids are good, they are really enjoying their summer. School starts 30 Aug, so I am busy getting school clothes ready. Mikey, as of right now is going to the German Kindergarten, starting 30 Aug. I am really dreading that day but also looking forward to it. I get ME TIME!!! lol I am really sad to let my partner in crime go He is my buddy.... :( We are doing well, it has been really hot here. There are days I am really missing my A/C! lol
This weekend, Mike and I had a date night! It was so nice to just have us time. My friend watched the kids over night. WOO HOO!! We really enjoyed ourselves.Today, I got even more time to myself and celebrated my friends birthday at my friends house. Got to spend the WHOLE day without the kids. Mike took all three kids to go play mini golf and took them to a huge pool with water slides and diving boards. Apparently, Alex was jumping off the 2nd highest board like a frog! The kids were very worn out. Summer is going by super fast. Pretty soon the leaves will be changing and sweaters will be worn!! I am actually looking forward to the Fall/Winter here! Well, that is it for now!! I will update soon! Hope all is well with everyone! Love you all!!

RED WHITE AND BLUE!!

Hey everyone!! It's been awhile since I last posted!! It has been busy here at the Longo house!!!We are enjoying the summer now....hasn't been cool for awhile. Thank goodness!! The kids have been enjoying their little pools and playing outside. We have been enjoying bbq's with friends and just have a good time!
This weekend was crazy busy. Saturday, we took the kids to Volegewh base for great 4th of July festivities. They had great food, carnival rides, although the kids only went on the Ferris wheel....then we sat front row and watched fireworks. We hung out with some friends. The kids were loving it and having a great time!!! We got home pretty late that night, but it was well worth it.
Sunday, Mike took Alex to the driving range. Alex loved it. So Mike is gonna get her a set of golf clubs soon, that way they will be able to share Mike's interest together. Later that night, we went to a friends house for a great bbq to celebrate our country's freedom!! It was a blast, the pool was out the slip and slide, and a jumpy castle!! Lets just say all the kids were WORN out!!! lol Great food and company was also present...hee hee. The adults played a game called corn hole. Its basically a bean bag toss game. Four people play and two teams. My friend and I won...my first time playing too...lol It was a lot of fun!
Today we just relaxed around the house. Mike did some things around the house and I did some school work and reading with Jackie, gotta keep her focused....lol. This week is just gonna be more fun in the sun and playing outside. I am still watching my friends kids, so it will be busy. The kids love them here, keeps them entertained. lol Well, I hope everyone had a great weekend and a wonderful 4th of July!! Miss everyone! Till next time.......

Just Another Blog.....

Happy Monday everyone! Hope everyone had a great Father's day! We did..... First, Mike had to run out and do errands, which was perfect for the kids and I because made mike's favorite cookies, they had sooo much fun mixing and putting all the ingredients together. Then the kids wrapped daddy's presents. We couldn't find the tape so Alex had a great idea to use glue..lol Hey, what can I say, she is very resourceful. Then the kids got ready for their performance for daddy. It consisted of two dances and a poem and confetti all over the place. LOL Then after that we went to go eat. It was a pretty good day. The kids are so special. I love their little imaginations.
Saturday, we went to another BBQ. I am really happy that we are making friends....the little group that it seems we do stuff with are really good people. It makes living overseas that much more easier when you have good friends.
This week is gonna be busy. I am babysitting my friends boys. They are really good, so no complaints...just a busy week! All in all, everyone here is good and healthy. The weather could be better, but its ok. We are still able to get outside and enjoy non rainy days. Hope everyone is doing well and are all in good health.

Hello everyone! Hope everyone is having a great week so far! I am. It's the first week of the girls being out of school. It's been busy already! Yesterday was a bunch of running around. Jackie got some money for her end of the year gift, for doing so well. So guess what she wanted to go do...SHOPPING! She ended up getting a new DS game. She is so funny. Alex, wanted some American girl clothes for Emily, her doll. They both did really well this year, I thought they deserved a little gift.
Today was STRAWBERRY PATCH day! A friend and I took our kids to go pick strawberries. They had a blast. They thought it was so cool to go on a hunt for nice, big, red, strawberries. Mikey liked the baby ones. I ended up paying 8 euro on strawberries. It was 2 something a kilo. So you can imagine how much I got. These strawberries are the best strawberries I have ever tasted. What to do, what to do with these strawberries. MMMMMMM......
Then we went downtown,Kaiserslautern, and walked around, got lunch, and ice cream for the kids. They have a really nice farmers market down there. Might have to go back and get some fresh veggies. Then we cam home and the kids played for a bit. I cleaned...lol
I don't know what tomorrow holds. I do know the gym. lol
The girls are getting ready for Father's Day. They have been practicing songs and poems they made up to show Mike on that day. They are soooo excited about that. I went upstairs yesterday to put them to bed and I heard them, so I stood listening and watching without them knowing and it is super cute. They are really talented with that kind of stuff. Its going to be cute. They have all sorts of ideas for that day.
Well that is about it. Hope everyone is enjoying themselves!
